Ideas For Creating A Keepsake Of Your Wedding Invitation

As a record of important details from your special day, your wedding invitation is uniquely a one-of-a-kind remembrance. Ordering a few extra invitations is highly suggested so you can save them as wedding souvenirs but then they will more than likely be stored away in your wedding album.

Why not create a memento of your wedding invitation that is more permanent and can be easily displayed in your home as a special remembrance. Especially since all the formal details of your wedding day appear within your invitation text date, time of ceremony, time of dinner/reception, name and address of ceremony location, name and address of dinner/reception locale as well as maybe a special verse or quote chosen by you and your fianc. The invitation design itself may also be symbolic of the colors or theme of your wedding.

Having your invitation wording permanently imprinted on a keepsake item is a wonderful way to uniquely commemorate your wedding day. Here are some suggested items that can be engraved with your wedding invitation verse:

Photo Album A great way to personalize a wedding album is to have your invitation wording elegantly engraved on the front cover. This way every time you look through your cherished wedding pictures you will be able to see your invitation verse too.

Wedding Invitation Frame Create a lasting symbol by using a beautiful glass frame to showcase your favorite wedding photo as well as feature your delicately etched invitation verse.

Glass Block A simple, but elegant, glass or lucite sculpture piece can be engraved with your wedding invitation text creating an exquisite symbol of your special day.

Commemorative Plate Easily hung on a wall or placed on an easel for table-top display, a decorative plate engraved or etched with your invitation verse will make a wonderful memento for years to come.

With all of your planning and preparations, creating a wedding invitation keepsake may not be a high priority before your wedding, but this is easily something you can have designed later since you may even receive one of these personalized items as a wedding gift.

Your wedding is without a doubt one of the most important days of your life so give some thought to creating a lasting souvenir of your wedding invitation to preserve all the details of your special day. As the years go by, you will undoubtedly be glad you did.

Couple Renew Their Vows Ten Years After Wedding In Barbados

A couple from Doddington have renewed their wedding vows ten years after their original wedding in Barbados, at their local parish church where they were surrounded by family and friends.

Angela and Dave Stocker enjoyed a tropical wedding in Barbados ten years ago with a small group of guests including Angela’s parents who lived on the Caribbean island. When Dave lost his wedding ring two years ago while the couple were on holiday, Angela came up with the idea of proposing to her husband on their ninth wedding anniversary.

Angela explained: “I took him away to Leicester for the weekend as a surprise for our anniversary and in the evening I asked him to marry me.”

Instead of planning another wedding in Barbados, the couple decided to tie the knot for the second time in their local church where they could be surrounded by family and friends who were unable to make their original wedding abroad.

Over 100 guests crammed into the parish church, including Angela’s parents who had flown over to the UK especially for the happy occasion which took place just three days after the couple’s 10th wedding anniversary.

Angela added: “We did it here this time so all our friends and family could be there. It got a bit out of hand but it was superb. I wanted it to be all different.”

What was originally planned as small celebration soon became an event on a larger scale and the couple’s wedding reception took place in Doddington Village Hall.

The wedding cost approximately 1,300 and Angela managed to find most of the dresses, including her wedding dress, on EBay. Angela’s original bridesmaids also wore dresses which amazingly matched the dresses from the wedding in Barbados ten years ago.

As many couples struggle with the decision of getting married abroad or tying the knot in their home country, this couple have proved that you can do both and it doesn’t even have to be expensive.

Different Views Of Marriage In Religion

Marriage, aside from the laws as well as responsibility of the couple, also embodies different religion views. Almost all mainstream religions, such as Christianity, Protestantism, Judaism, and Islam, believes that marriages are a divine practice deemed and blessed by the gods. Most of these religions perform a wedding ceremony to solemnize the beginning of a marriage which can be regarded as a sacred sacrament, contract, a sacred institution, or a covenant.

Christianity
In Christianity, they believe that marriage is a gift from God, one that should not be taken for granted. Christians often marry for religious reasons ranging from following the biblical injunction for a “man to leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife, and the two shall become one,” to obeying Canon Law stating marriage between baptized persons is a sacrament. However, divorce is not encouraged in Christianity, synonymous to Protestantism, in which annulment can only end marriage.

Protestantism
In Protestant views, the purpose of marriage is to glorify God by demonstrating his love to the world. Other purposes of marriage include intimate companionship, rearing children and mutual support for both husband and wife to fulfill their life callings. Unlike Christianity, Protestants generally approve of birth control. Also, most Protestant churches allow people to marry again after a divorce.

Judaism
In Judaism, marriage is viewed as a contractual bond commanded by God in which a man and a woman come together to create a relationship in which God is directly involved. Though procreation is not the sole purpose, a Jewish marriage is also expected to fulfill the commandment to have children. The main purpose of Judaism marriage centers around the relationship between the husband and wife.

Islamic Views
Islam also commends marriage, with the age of marriage being whenever the individuals feel ready, financially and emotionally. Unlike other mainstream religions, Islam views mostly allow polygamy in men, with the specific limitation that they can only have up to four wives at any one time, given the religious requirement that they are able to and willing to partition their time and wealth equally among the respective wives.

Other Religion Views

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) believe that “marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God and that the family is central to the Creator’s plan for the eternal destiny of His children.”
Hinduism sees marriage as a sacred duty that entails both religious and social obligations.
In the Bah’ Faith marriage is encouraged and viewed as a mutually strengthening bond, but is not obligatory. For more information visit to our site at http://philippineweddingplanner.com

Wedding Dress Shopping

This is the big day! The dress is the biggest part of the show! What will you wear? Who will go with you to pick it out? What will look best? These questions and others plague every bride as she begins the journey towards her second love, her wedding dress. Being thoughtful about the process of selecting your wedding dress, will create an experience that is memorable because of the amazing way it made you feel.

1. Style: Brides almost never arrive to a dress shop with absolutely no clue as to what they want to wear on their wedding day. Most have looked online or in magazines to see what styles they would like. While this is a great way to get a head start, it can also be a source of extreme disappointment. The style you have in mind might look fabulous on you. However, there is a chance it might not. Keeping an open mind when going to look for a dress is an important part of the journey. You may be completely surprised, but none the less thrilled with the style that actually does look fabulous on you. I had my heart set on a particular dress from a magazine when I went dress shopping. It was the first one I tried on at the store and I immediately knew when I saw myself in it that it was not for me. However, it did not ruin my day and I found there were plenty more styles that I liked even better.

2. Who to take: Traditionally, only a few people or even just the mother of the bride see the wedding dress before its debut. Today, brides want to feel more inclusive with their bridesmaids, siblings and sometimes even their fianc. This is completely up to the bride, however, this will be an emotional experience and it is always best to choose people who will be emotionally supportive. Yes, you want people who will honestly give you an opinion on dresses, but opinions and truth can be presented in various ways and taking people along who will present it in a loving, thoughtful way will make your experience that much richer. When I went to pick out my dress, I took my sister, who was my matron of honor and my mother. I narrowed it down to two dresses and even went back a second day to try them both on again before I finally chose one. Once I had narrowed it down to the two, my sister and mother never stated which one they preferred. They simply told me that I looked beautiful in both and that whichever one I went with would be wonderful. That was so reassuring to me. I did try and pressure them a bit to confess which one they preferred, but they never did. I got to make the final selection and only received accolades from both. It was an awesome experience and I felt nothing but love and support from them.

3. Budget! Budget! Budget!: Did I mention budget? Can you imagine anything worse than looking in the closet at your wedding dress a month after your wedding and then looking at the stack of bills you and your husband have to pay and regretting that you went way over budget on a dress that you only wore for one day? This can sometimes happen even if you stayed on budget just because of the short time the dress is actually worn. So, if you have a budget, stick to it. If you don’t have a budget, but really need one, set one prior to going to look at dresses. Don’t live with regret.

4. Don’t be afraid to be creative: There are many options for accenting wedding dresses, so don’t be afraid to think outside the wedding dress box. For example, a colored sash makes a great addition to a dress that might not have the right amount of bling or style for you. A veil can also drastically change the look of a gown or a rhinestone head piece, if a veil isn’t for you. The point is to not just look at the dress as is, but consider how to give it your own personal touch. This can be especially important if you have selected a dress that helps you stay on budget, but isn’t your ideal gown.

Secrets To Look Taller And Sexy In Party Wear Salwar Kameez

Fitting is the mantra to look taller. Well fitted kameez and churidar accentuate your body lines, which naturally creates a slimming effect and an appearance of added height.

A single shoulder kameez and a halter neck as well as anything with a deep v-neck will work.

Pick kameez with vertical pleats, stripes or patterns. Pinstripe, chalk stripe and herringbone will provide the visual length you are hoping for.

Wear churidars instead of salwars and avoid kameez that are too flared or voluminous.

Opting for dark colors such as black, navy and deep gray will also make you look slimmer and taller thereby.

Also avoid strong color contrasts between kameez and churidar. Monotones are a good idea.

A long dupatta too helps to look tall.

Keep the jewelry light and avoid bulky pieces. Danglers and long chains are a good idea to look tall.

Avoid platforms heels and wear stilettos.

Carry potli bags or clutches instead of heavy bags.

And last but not the least practice a good posture by keeping an upright torso as often as you can.
